Pacific Northwest Communities, LLC - Discovery Park Sewer Extension
Discovery Park is built on the historic grounds of Fort Lawton, an Army base established in the early 1900s. Some of the residential military buildings are on the National Register of Historic Places and are being converted into private residences. The sewer and water systems to these historic buildings are being upgraded, and the sewer line is being reinstalled with new clay piping, consistent with the materials originally used.
Our engineers explored subsurface conditions in the area of the sewer and water pipe alignments and provided recommendations for site development. We also provided consultation regarding the infiltration capacity of the subsurface soils at various locations and infiltration design rates for on-site stormwater management.
